Permanent Full-Time Early Childhood Development Outreach Coordinator

Salary Range: $65,374.40-$75,020.40

Hours of Work: 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday to Friday. Company vehicle provided.

The Early Childhood Development (ECD) Outreach Coordinator will work under the general guidance of the Healthy Families Program Director and under the direct supervision of the Healthy Families Program Supervisor, the ECD Outreach Coordinator will be a part of the Early Childhood Development Team and will be responsible for planning, developing, and implementing support plans for young children (ages 0 to 18 years) with special needs and their families in order to provide support for those displaying developmental delays, as well as those with established environmental, psychological and biological risk factors.  

The ECD Outreach Coordinator will provide support and work collaboratively with BRT6HC Jordan’s Principal Service Coordinator to ensure children (ages 0 to 18) with special needs and their families have access to the health and social services they need, when they need them.  

QUALIFICATIONS

·        Bachelor’s Degree in a human service, child development or related field.

·        Minimum two (2) years’ experience working with infants, young children with special needs (birth to school age) and staff in inclusive settings, including experience working with families in both home and childcare programs, utilizing a family-centered model of early intervention. 

·        Early Childhood Education and Experience developing and implementing Individual Family Support Plans and experience in working with families with special needs may be considered. 

·        An ability to demonstrate energy and enthusiasm while working with families and for the program in general 

·        Ability to relate and communicate effectively 

·        Ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with staff, clients, and community service agencies 

·        Must be willing to take direction, be open to new ideas, able to learn and grow with the program, the children, and the parents 

·        Previous working experience with First Nations people and demonstrate an understanding of the health and social issues encountered by First Nations people, and a willingness to learn about and accept First Nations cultures 

·        Confidentiality is essential 

·        Valid Driver’s License 

·        Must provide a successful criminal record check with Vulnerable Sector
