Competitive 6 Step Salary Grid: $86,801.00 -$105,606

 

The Environmental Public Health Officer/Supervisor works collaboratively with BRT6HC communities to identify and prevent environmental public health risks. The EPHO/S provides guidance, education, public health inspections and recommendations on matters relating to the day-to-day operation of BRT6HC Environmental Public Health Program.

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • University degree in Environmental Health or an equivalent combination of experience and education.
  • Three years of experience in Environmental Health, with experience supervising.
  • A clear understanding of Environmental Public Health
  • Ability to lead, mentor, and support employees, conduct performance reviews, and apply appropriate disciplinary actions.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and demonstrated organizational skills, with an emphasis on collaborative problem solving.
  • Demonstrated ability to handle highly sensitive information and documents, exercising     confidentiality, discretion, good judgement, and exercising tact, courtesy, and diplomacy always.
  • Demonstrate a high degree of flexibility and adaptability to balance the changing needs of the organization.
  • A successful criminal record check with the vulnerable sector.
  • Proficient with computers, i.e., Microsoft Office 2011, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and SharePoint, and Microsoft Teams.
  • Experience working with a First Nations organization and familiarity with First Nations culture, history, and governance is considered an asset, and a willingness to learn about and accept First Nations culture.
  • Must possess a valid Saskatchewan driver’s license.
  • Must possess a successful criminal record check with the vulnerable sector.
