Permanent Full Time Addictions Counsellor

Qualification and Experience:
· Minimum of a Diploma in Addictions; must be certified or eligible for certification with a recognized addiction-related governing body
· At least two (2) years of experience working with marginalized populations affected by addiction in a health-related setting
· Knowledge of addiction issues, harm reduction strategies, motivational interviewing, adult education principles
· Demonstrated ability to apply strength-based, trauma-informed, and client-centered approaches.
· Familiarity with community-based resources and programming that support recovery
· Proven skills in documentation, record-keeping, and data collection
· Understanding and respect for Indigenous cultures, values, and healing approaches with a willingness to learn and engage respectfully
· Self-motivated and able to work independently with minimal supervision
· Demonstrates the agency's values in all interactions with BRT6HC First Nations communities, clients, colleagues, and partners
· Must successfully pass a Criminal Record Check including a Vulnerable Sector Search
