Community Wellness Services

Program Overview

BRT6HC employs Community Wellness Workers. Their goals are to provide culturally appropriate outreach, mental health and addictions related education, chronic disease support/programming and other community-based support to assist communities to maximize knowledge in mental health and wellness. They have a strong emphasis on holistic health promotion and community capacity building and works within a harm reduction framework. 

The Community Wellness workers will work with you to provide various presentations and awareness services in your community. These include but are not limited to the following:

  • Traditional Tobacco teachings
  • Smoking Cessation
  • ASIST training (Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training)
  • SafeTALK training (suicide alertness for everyone)
  • Mental health awareness 
  • Grief and loss support
  • Addictions recovery support and education
  • Harm reduction education and naloxone education
