Jordan’s Principle

Program Overview

At BRT6HC, we understand the barriers that our families may face when trying to access resources and/or services.  

Goal

Providing inclusive and trauma informed services.  

Purpose

  • For the Jordan’s Principle team members to approach each client with compassion, awareness, and reconciliation
  • To support children aged 0 to 18 years old
  • To assist families in ensuring all First Nation Children can access the products, services & supports they need, when they need them

Some services that can be covered:

  • Mobility aids
  • Wheelchair ramps
  • Services for Elders
  • Assessments and screening
  • Mental health services
  • Respite
  • Dental
  • Land-based actives
  • Tutoring services

Role of the Coordinator

  • Provide navigation support through the Jordan’s Principle application process
  • To ensure that all the requirements for the Jordan’s Principle application process is followed
  • They have in-depth knowledge of other services that can be accessed by the child, family &/or community to ensure supports
  • To advocate for the child, family & community
