Battlefords FamilyHealth Centre; located in downtown North Battleford is seeking applications forthe home visiting component of the KidsFirstprogram. Two HOME VISITORS will be recruited for Full-Timepositions.

The KidsFirstprogram is a provincial initiative, jointly managed by representatives fromMinistry of Social Services, Saskatchewan Health Authority, Living Sky SchoolDivision, Light of Christ School Division, and Battle River Treaty 6 HealthCentre Inc.  KidsFirst offers parenting and early childhood support for familiesand children, prenatal to age 3.

2 (Two) PermanentFull-Time KidsFirst Home Visitors Competitive 6-Step Salary Grid - $41,847.00 to$49,686.00 annually

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Knowledge and awareness of cultural values and practices within community

• Awareness of and demonstrated ability to relate to families facing multiple challenges relating to parenting

• Experience working with children from 0 – 3 years is an asset.

• Knowledge of child development and family dynamics (an Early Childhood Worker or Educational Assistant certificate is an asset)

• Minimum requirement is a high school diploma

• Basic computer skills are required

• Good written and oral communication skills

• Ability to work in a team environment

• Demonstrate maturity and positive attitude

• Able to work flexible hours

• Previous working experience with First Nations people and demonstrate an understanding of the health and social issues encountered by First Nation people and a willingness to learn about and accept First Nations cultures

• A successful criminal record check with vulnerable sector.

• Valid driver’s license and access to a vehicle during workinghours.  (Mileage will be compensated.)
