Permanent Full Time Finance Manager
The Finance Manager, reporting to the Director of Finance and Operations, is a key leadership position responsible for ensuring strong financial stewardship across the organization. This role requires a skilled and experienced finance professional who can lead the Finance Department, provide strategic financialinsight, and support the long‑term sustainability of BRT6HC programs andservices.
KeyResponsibilities
FinancialManagement
- Provide guidance, mentorship, and supervision to the Finance team, ensuring effective management of all financial and accounting policies, systems, and processes.
- Oversee financial operations including budgeting, forecasting, financial analysis, regulatory compliance, internal controls, and audit preparation.
- Ensure accurate and timely financial reporting and support leadership in developing long‑term strategic initiatives and business plans.
- Maintain and improve financial management tools, procedures, and reporting systems to support decision-making.
- Oversee cash flow, treasury functions, and banking relationships to ensure efficient financial operations.
Payroll& Benefits Administration
- Oversee all payroll functions, ensuring accurate processing and timely filing of ROEs, T4s, and other required employer submissions.
- Collaborate closely with Human Resources to ensure group pension premiums, group insurance premiums, and employee assistance program remittances are submitted accurately and on time.
- Maintain confidentiality and compliance with employment standards, payroll legislation, and internal policies.
Funding& Program Support
- Research, prepare, and coordinate funding proposals, financial documentation, and reporting requirements for potential programs and projects.
- Support program directors with budget development, financial monitoring, and analysis of program expenditures and funding agreements.
Qualifications& Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field with
CPA or Certified Aboriginal Financial Manager (CAFM). Acombination of education and experience will be considered.
- Minimum 5 years of progressive experience in finance and accounting, including demonstrated expertise in financial reporting, budgeting, and audit preparation.
- Minimum 3 years of supervisory or management experience leading a financial team.
- Knowledge of HR-related processes including payroll, benefits, and pension administration.
- Experience with SAGE 300 is an asset.
- Strong understanding of internal controls, risk management, and compliance requirements.
- Demonstrates cultural understanding and respect for traditional First Nations values, beliefs, and healing approaches, and a willingness to learn and engage with First Nations cultures.
- High level of professionalism, integrity, and commitment to organizational values.
- Must maintain strict confidentiality at all times.
- Successful Criminal Record Check and valid driver’s license required.
