Birth Support Worker
Battle River Treaty 6 Health Centre Inc. is not just another health organization, we are rooted in the culture of our member bands and treaty right to health. We work for the people living on the members bands of Little Pine, Lucky Man, Poundmaker, and Sweetgrass First Nations; and believe in the services being driven by the needs of the clients and community. Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
· Grade 12 or equivalent is required.
· Completion of Birth Doula Studies Program/or equivalent is considered an asset.
· Demonstrated knowledge, respect, and understanding of FirstNations culture and traditions, and traditional birthing practices.
· Demonstrates agency values int eh work they do daily with BRT6HC First Nations Communities, clients, and co-workers.
· Knowledge of the organization strategic priorities, values, goals,services and programs.
· Previous experience working in First Nations communities is considered an asset.
· Knowledge and proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint,Outlook, Excel, Publisher) and technological platforms such as Microsoft Teams.
· Abilities and behaviours associated with the core competencies with an emphasis upon planning, organizing, analytical and problem solving, interpersonal, collaboration, teamwork, and leadership.
· Demonstrated ability to handle highly sensitive information and documents.
· Exercising discretions, good judgement and tact, courtesy, and diplomacy at all times. High degree of confidentiality is essential.
· Demonstrate a high degree of flexibility and adaptability to balance the changing needs of the organization.
· Works collaboratively with colleagues to support shared goals and maintain a positive, respectful workplace culture.
· Ability to work independently and as a member of the multidisciplinary team.
· A successful criminal record check with vulnerable sector and a valid driver’s license.

Six Step Salary Range: Step One $55,746.60 to $66,211.60
