Job Description

The Medical Transportation Coordinator/Receptionist will work under the direction and supervision of the Office Manager and will have the responsibility for the effective coordination of approved medical transportation for the members living on Poundmaker Cree Nation using Non-Insured Health Benefits policies and procedures. The Medical Transportation Coordinator/Receptionist will also be responsible for office reception and other clerical duties and expected to maintain strict confidentiality and to be courteous and professional at all times.

Qualifications

  • Diploma from a recognized business college. Grade 12 and equivalencies with related work experience will be considered
  • Experience working in a team setting
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills to utilize when assisting clients over the phone, video conferencing and Telehealth
  • Strong conflict resolution skills and the ability to remain calm under pressure are essential
  • Must be proficient with word processing and spreadsheets, and general office equipment
  • Demonstrated ability for attention to detail and thoroughness
  • Confidentiality is essential; candidate must be capable of maintaining high levels of confidentiality
  • Must provide a successful criminal record check with vulnerable sector
  • Knowledge of and sensitivity to the First Nations language
  • Previous working experience with First Nations people and demonstrate an understanding of the health and social issues encountered by First Nation people and a willingness to learn about and accept First Nations cultures.
  • Must have a valid Class 5 Drivers License
