Location: Little Pine First Nation

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Minimum requirement is an Early Childhood Education Certification.
  • Knowledge and awareness of cultural values and practices within the community.
  • Experience in children’s programming or services
  • An ability to demonstrate energy and enthusiasm while working with children and families.
  • Ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with staff, clients, and community service agencies.
  • Must be willing to take direction, be open to new ideas, able to learn and grow with the program, the children, and the parents
  • Previous working experience with First Nations people and demonstrate an understanding of the health and social issues encountered by First Nation people and a willingness to learn about and accept First Nations cultures.
  • Ability to speak and understand Cree is an asset.
  • Confidentiality is essential.
  • Good written and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently, in an initiative-taking manner and effectively as a team player.
  • Valid Class 5 driver’s license required with clean drivers abstract.
  • A successful criminal record check with vulnerable sector
  • Access to an insured vehicle during working hours is required.
